Tiny Tuesday No. 5 — French Court Suit, c.1780

£60.00

A hand-painted miniature of a French, gentleman’s court suit dating to around 1780, inspired by an original garment in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Created in pen, ink and watercolour with metallic accents on heavy 300gsm cold-press paper, this tiny study captures the rich texture of the silk velvet and the intricate embroidery, which was carefully planned before the fabric was even cut.

This is the original miniature—as shown on my Instagram and TikTok pages.

Please note, reproductions such as prints or cards may be created from the artwork in future.

Part of my Tiny Tuesdays series.
