Tiny Tuesday No. 7 — Pair of Indoor, Woman’s Slip-on Shoes, c.1785–90
A hand-painted miniature of a pair of women’s indoor slip-on shoes dating to around 1785–90, inspired by an original pair in the collection of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Created in pen, ink and watercolour on heavy 300gsm cold-press paper, this tiny study captures the delicate details of the embroidered decoration, elegant shape, and refined craftsmanship of these late eighteenth-century shoes.
This is the original miniature—as shown on my Instagram and TikTok pages.
Please note, reproductions such as prints or cards may be created from the artwork in future.
Part of my Tiny Tuesdays series.
